Troubleshooting & FAQ

Having trouble? Most issues fall into one of the areas below.

Zuno can’t connect to my Jellyfin/Emby server

  • Double-check the server URL, including the port (for example http://192.168.1.100:8096).
  • Try switching between http:// and https://, as some servers only accept one.
  • Make sure your device is on the same network as the server, or that the server is reachable from outside your home if you’re away.
  • If Zuno found your server on the network automatically, tap it from the list rather than typing the address.

I don’t know my password / my account uses single sign-on

If your server supports Quick Connect, use Sign In with Quick Connect and approve the code from a device that’s already signed in. This works even when your account has no password.

My Plex libraries aren’t showing

Make sure you completed the Plex sign-in and authorised Zuno. You can re-run the connection from Settings.

A video won’t play, keeps buffering, or shows a black screen

  • Check your connection to the server. Buffering is usually a network or server bandwidth issue.
  • Lower the streaming quality: Settings → Playback → Quality. On mobile data, enable Lower Quality on Cellular.
  • Try a different audio or subtitle track, as occasionally a specific track causes trouble.

Playback quality looks lower than expected

Set Quality to Highest Quality (or Original) in Settings → Playback. Note that Original and higher qualities need enough bandwidth between your device and server.

Subtitles are out of sync

Open the Subtitles menu during playback and adjust the Sync Offset until they line up with the audio.

The subtitles I want aren’t in the file

Use Search Online… from the Subtitles menu to find and load additional subtitle tracks.

Subtitles are too small / hard to read

Customise size, colour, and style in Settings → Playback → Subtitles → Appearance.

No sound, or the wrong language is playing

Open the Audio Track menu during playback and pick the correct track. To have Zuno choose automatically in future, set your preferred languages in Settings → Playback → Audio.

The Skip Intro button and Auto-Skip Intros rely on intro markers provided by Plex Pass or the relevant Jellyfin plugin. Without those markers, Zuno has no intro to skip. Make sure the feature is enabled in Settings → Playback → Intros & Credits.

Cast / AirPlay isn’t working

  • Make sure your casting target is on the same network as your device.
  • Confirm the device supports AirPlay or the casting method you’re using.

How do I join the beta?

Open Settings → Subscription and follow the TestFlight steps. The beta requires an active Zuno Pro subscription and Sign in with Apple.

What does Zuno Pro include?

See Advanced Formats for the full list: 4K and enhanced HDR, spatial and lossless audio, personalised recommendations, and in-app media requests.

If none of the above helps, note what you were doing when the issue happened (the title, your server type, and your device). That detail makes it much easier to get to the bottom of it.
